Anyways, Hello! From Lilo and I. Lilo is our 7 month old bull terrier! and… she’s a toe licker!! AHH!!! She’s the cutest and most affectionate puppy I’ve ever met! She’s also a shoe thief and does not do tricks. So these treats are just a reward for being her adorable self!
This is a really quick and easy oatmeal dog treats recipe with minimal ingredients in them.
The ingredients and benefits follow:
Oatmeal: aids digestion, skin, hormonal balance, fiber intake, etc..
Cinnamon: just half a teaspoon of cinnamon a day will help to regulate blood sugar and rise insulin resistance. Boast ability to use insulin to inprove blood glucose levels.
Coconut oil: contains MCTs AND the lauric acid in coconut oil has antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-fungal properties. Capric and caprylic acid have similar properties and are best known for their anti-fungal effects.
Natural unsalted peanut butter: good source of protein and contains heart healthy fats, vitamin B, niacin, and vitamin E.
Perhaps the next time I make these cookies, I would add in some grated carrots, chia seeds and chopped almonds!
These doggy treats freeze beautifully and Lilo loves these straight out of the freezer too! Keep theses treats in a freezer bag and they can keep up to 3 months!
Ingredients for Dog Treats Recipe:
2-1/4 cups (250 g) organic gluten free oat flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 tablespoo3 tablespoons organic coconut oil
1/4 cup (50 ml) boiling water
2 tablespoon natural unsweetened/ unsalted peanut butter
Instructions for Dog Treats Recipe:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F/180 degrees C. Lightly grease a cookie sheet.
In a bowl, mix boiling water and peanut butter till no lumps left.
Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well.
Roll dough into a 1/2 inch thick circle and using a cookie cutter, stamp desired shapes.
Place on a lined cookie sheet and bake for about 15 minutes.
Homemade Oat flour*: Place 250g of oats in a food processor and blend till oats resemble fine sand.
