Berry Pitaya Smoothie Recipe
Yes! It’s pitaya (dragon fruit) season!
Here in Asia, we call it dragon fruit and it’s of abundance during this time of the year. You can get them at the local fruit stalls or at your neighbouring convenient supermarkets. They come cheaper by the kilo so don’t just get one, get a whole lot!
We’re making a Berry Pitaya Smoothie and all you will need are some fresh or frozen pitaya, frozen berries of your choice, some sweetener like maple, a wedge of lemon if you like the extra kick, and a helping of chia just before serving.
Ingredients for Berry Pitaya Smoothie Recipe:
1 fresh or frozen pitaya (dragon fruit)
½ cup frozen berries (eg. raspberries, strawberries, blueberries)
½ cup of water
1- 2 tablespoons of maple or any type of sweetener of choice
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Garnish toppings, optional: chia seeds, lemon wedge, shredded coconut, bee pollen, cacao nibs, cubed fresh dragon fruit
Instructions for Berry Pitaya Smoothie Recipe:
Add all ingredients to a blender (you do not need a high powder blender) and blend till smooth.
Pour into a cup or a bowl and top with optional garnish ingredients.
Enjoy it while it’s freshly bended!
